ご宿泊は、一棟まるごと貸し切りになります。チェックインからチェックアウトまで、思い思いのスタイルで山里の茅葺き民家ステイをお楽しみください。滞在中は門限もなく、外出も自由です。宿はナンバーロックシステム（ナンバーを入力して施錠、解錠する）を採用していますので、鍵の受け渡しもありません。宿は茅葺屋根の民家ながら、バスルーム、空調設備、リネン、床暖房など最新の設備を備えております。ゆったりとした時間を快適にお過ごし頂けます。宿にはIHキッチンに調理器具一式、基本調味料類（塩、こしょう、醤油、サラダ油、みりん、砂糖）を備えており、ひととおりの調理が可能です。お客様ご自身で食材をご用意頂き、自炊することができます。滞在中のお食事の提供をご希望の場合は、別途料金を頂くことで様々なスタイルをご用意しております。

当施設は徳島県三好市東祖谷の落合集落にあり、祖谷地方は日本三大秘境の一つに挙げられています。一般的に集落は山の麓に形成され、さらに田畑が広がるというのがいわゆる「日本の里山の風景」ですが、祖谷の集落は山の斜面を切りひらかれ集落を形成しています。ここ落合集落は高低差約390メートルにも及ぶ集落で、江戸時代中期から後期に建造された古い民家が今も崖に張り付くように点在しています。こうした古い民家は山村集落特有の構造と間取りを持ち、集落内をうねるように伸びる里道、周囲に広がる石垣や耕作地と相まって独特の景観を持っています。2005年には、このような歴史的景観の希少性が評価され、集落全体が重要伝統的建造物群保存地区（重伝建地区）に選定されています。

落合集落の茅葺古民家を古の趣はそのままに快適にステイできる宿泊施設としてリノベーションしたのが、「桃源郷祖谷の山里」です。東洋文化研究者アレックス・カー氏のプロデュースの下、それぞれに違った個性の宿舎が全部で８棟できました。
